This Wiki was designed as a collaborative space for reading activities that pertain to our Dr. Seuss Reading Celebration in conjunction with the after-school reading enrichment program. The reading program was designed to take students beyond their school day and into new areas of reading and learning. Dr. Seuss offers the perfect combination of fun, literacy, and engagement that students need to experience meaningful learning. “... the opportunity to engage in activities that help young people realize they have something to contribute to the group; the opportunity to work with diverse peers and adults to create projects, performances and presentations that receive accolades from their families and the larger community; and the opportunity to develop a vision of life’s possibilities that, with commitment and persistence, are attainable,” (Making the Case, 2006).
